Representatives from the oil, gas, water and pipeline products industry from around the world gathered in Berlin from May 2nd to 4th to participate in the largest conference in Europe, the Pipeline Technology Conference.
With 164 submissions received for the conference, a total of 80 presentations were included in the final program. In addition to the conference, a number of submissions were chosen for the accompanying scientific paper show. Research papers covered a range of topics including automation, coating, composite repair, construction, decommissioning, in-line inspection, integrity management, leak detection, offshore technologies, planning and design, repair, safety, standards, and trenchless technologies. Dr. Klaus Ritter, Chief Scientist at EnviroVest Industrial Group, Chairman of the conference and President of the EITEP Institute, gave the opening address for the event. Dr Ritter noted “the extremely high number of international participants from all sectors of the industry will allow us to not only intensify inter-country exchange of experience, but also, in particular, the exchange of experience between operators of gas, oil, water, and product pipeline systems.”
EITEP was established in 1994 to specialize in energy, water and environmental technology consulting. In China, EITEP has cooperated with the National Development and Reform Commission, China Gas Association, Renmin University, Wuhan Water, etc.
